RAJASTHAN ROYALS
Continuation of ...................
Heard some gossips and news like Steve Smith and David Warner going to face a Lifetime Ban from their board Cricket Australia (CA). The way they did in the ongoing test test against south africa made a black mark for aussie cricket board among the cricket world. Most of you people doesn't know what happened in that match. Actually south africa batted well and took a lead at the end of 1st innings. During second innings aussies plan to damage the new ball so that they can swing easily and get wickets. So warner and smith wants to execute this plan via Bancroft by tammering the new ball with the help of yellow strap.
They need the help of Bancroft for this and now they are going to face the ban. This is not new for them in the last ashes series also they did. But this time they caught in camera itself. Even their coach Darren Lehmann knows this. I think Darren also may face a temporary ban in International Cricket. In that case Smith and Warner cant able to play in this year IPL. Lets wait and see whats gonna happen in cricket world.
Lets come to our discussion about team Rajasthan Royals in this IPL. Already we have enough dicussed about their Batsman and All-rounders. We almost decided the spots from 1 to 7. If smith faced a lifetime ban Jos Butler will replace him. Now we are going to see about how strong their bowling attack would be???
Spinners and Speedsters
Jaydev Unadkat, the biggest surprise of this IPL auction. Still no one understanding why Rajasthan Royals spend 11.5 crores for this guy. Now he is the second highest bid player in this IPL. Not only RR even CSK and KXIP fought for this guy. At one point CSK closed their bid everyone though punjab going to take him. Atlast RR make a bid of 11.5 Crores and bought him. Is he that much worth? The answer is no. Last year he performed well in IPL for RPSG by finishing the season as second leading wicket taker. Because of that only many teams interested to buy this guy. He already make his entrance in Indian Team. In last Nidhahas Trophy also he played. But he conceded lot of runs. Being a good domestic player he has to keep his performance graph as steady. Hope he can prove in this season for the amount spent on him. Definitely he should play in the XI.
Dhawal Kulkarni, a perfect pace partner for Unadkat. Last two years he played for gujarat lions. In 2016 he showed a good performace by picking 18 wickets. But last year his performance not upto the expectation. This year again he is going to play Rajasthan Royals. Unadkat and Kulkarni both are domestic bowlers. This is the biggest advantage for RR bowling linep. They never wants to change the duo. They should not worry about any overseas bowlers in their squad until they need them. So the place of kulkarni is confirmed in the playing XI.
Ben Laughlin or Dushmanha Chameera, one of them can able to play as an overseas speedster in a match. We were aware about laughlin as he already played in IPL for CSK and SRH. He didnt get enough chances to play but this year he may get there is no other overseas pacers in the list except Chameera. When come to Chameera, he is the young hope for srilankan bowling lineup. The 26 year old boy is dangerous in test matches. He took 22 wickets from 11 innings. The biggest advantage of him is his height using this he can bowl bounce with a constant speed of 140 plus Kmph. Only chameera and akila dhananjaya were the srilankan players who is going to play in this IPL remaining players went unsold.
Eventhough RR having lot of pace bowling options. They does not have any quality spinners as like other teams. Remember IPL going to happen in India, the subcontinent pitches usually favours for spin. RR team owners forgot this point i think. They have smith has part time bowler. For this they have only better option two domestic all-rounders one is Ankit Sharma and another one is Shreyas Gopal. Both are well known face among IPL fans. Ankit more famous than shreyas. Being an orthodox bowler ankit can easily get chance to play. If he fails to perform then only shreyas can get chance to play. Anyway RR having an option like this. lets wait how they are using these guys.
The final trumph card of RR team is an afghan player named Zahir Khan. You know what special ability this guy have. He is a slow left arm chinaman bowler. That is he used to put leg spin in left hand as like our kuldeep yadav. He is the only spin hope for RR team. He has taken 15 wickets from 8 matches in T20's in that his best is 5/19 runs. If he get a chance to play RR can get some early wickets.
Thats it. except these players few notable players are there anureet singh the punjabian bowler, Jofra archer the top order batsman from west indies and few domestic players in this list. Rajasthan Royals will face difficulty in selecting their bowlers during match. If they coordinate with their new captain they can think of about playoffs. If smith face a lifetime ban he cant able to play in IPL. If its so Rajasthan will face problems while playing deciding matches. Whatever Rahane has to be ready to face every challenges. Good Luck Royals.
