Continuation...............

All-Rounders

Here is the strongest part of Kings XI Punjab. KXIP always have hard hitters and best all-rounders in middle order. This time they have best all-rounders and middle order hitters. David Miller, Yuvaraj Singh, Marcus Stoinis, Axar Patel, Ravichandran Ashwin and the list goes on.

Yuvi, no need any  intro about this man. The man who send all the six balls to the boundary in an over now going to sit out of boundary line in few matches. Yes lot of young players in this IPL for KXIP middle order which makes this guys spot questionable in playing XI. Actually we expected that auctioners wont show that much interest for him this year. The same happened and finally KXIP get him back. But why all this???? Bcoz of his recent year performance. Not only in domestic matches, even in IPL also he doesnt have that much significant records. Only in few matches he claimed that he is a match winner. Its the time for his retirement. Hope in next two years he can became a mentor for KXIP. Only advantage is his experience in International matches helps the team to handle match situations. KXIP team definitely puts him in playing XI. But yuvi has to show his experience and should prove them that he is the king. He can comfortably book his spot as an Indian All-rounder in Playing XI. But if he didnt use this chance definitely Manoj Tiwary can replace him for middle order.

The Killer Miller going to continue his IPL journey again with Kings XI Punjab. There is no replacement for his position in KXIP team. This middle order hitter can blast at any time and any situation. He is one of the dangerous player in current cricket world both as batsman and as fielder. So KXIP doesnt have any confusion for choosing an International all-rounder. If miller and yuvi joins in middle order definitely punjab can score with an run rate of 15 plus at end overs. More than in batting their fielding also can save lot of boundaries. KXIP can confirm this man at position 6.

Marcus Stoinis, this young australian all-rounder again going to play for KXIP. No one is permanent in Australian squad, if you didnt perform well for few matches you cant expect any chances again. Stoinis in that situation only, he is still fighting hard to make his position permanent in team australia. Hope this IPL season can help him. Though Miller gonna play in playing XI at no 6 its very hard for stoinis to get a chance. If KXIP wants a bowling all-rounder in playing XI they can use him in replacing gayle or finch.

Axar Patel, the only man retained by KXIP at the time of IPL player retention 2018. Started his career as spinner and became an all-rounder by hitting boundaries when team needs made KXIP owner preity to retain this guy. Eventhough he is an efficient all-rounder still team India using him as a backup only. Ashwin and jadeja became eternal palyers in test squad. Now chahal and Kuldeep yadav booked spinner slot in ODI team. Only T20 squad doesnt have any fixed spinners. Axar should use this chance in IPL 2018 and show his skills to Indian selectors for short format games. Without any argument KXIP can choose him for the position no 7. In case yuvi and miller fails to hit big shots, axar can hit few boundaries at death overs.

The new captain of Kings XI Punjab, Ravichandran Ashwin moved to north from south for facing big challenges. From his starting career he played for CSK, last two years he played for RSPG because of CSK and RR ban. This time CSK cant able to retain him as they already having three indian players Dhoni, Raina and Jaddu. They cant even use RTM also. KXIP used this perfectly and bought him this year. I think he is the biggest player who cant able to retain using RTM. So its became positive for KXIP. and surprisingly KXIP made him as captain. In few domestic matches ashwin leads the team tamilnadu. Now we can see him as a captain in IPL. As of now most of the cricket lovers have not seen his captaincy and strategy. Lets hope we can see new approach from this new captain. As a captain ashwin can include himself in playing XI at position 8.

The Speeds

Kings XI Punjab`s weakest section, the bowling unit. They didnt pick any top bowlers in this season. But they have a good combination of average speeds. During auction from starting onwards KXIP owner looking for biggies but she fail to concentrate on bowlers. Preity has to alot some big amount for buying a consistent bowler at any cost. But they failed to do it. Eventhough they got seasonal performance bowlers like Tye, Mohit, Sran, Zadran, Rajpoot and Dagar.

Andrew J Tye, the aussie pacer is the only hope for KXIP in bowling side. He already played in IPL for both CSK and Gujarat Lions. His contribution to the team Gujarat is more when compared to other teams. He is having a five wicket haul in IPL history that includes an hat-trick in very first match for playing Gujarat team. This tall bowler can bowl yorkers at death overs and low speed balls to grab wickets. So Tye must be in the playing XI if its not it will be great loss for KXIP.

Mohit Sharma, Kings XI used their last RTM card to buy this guy. He is one among the demanded domestic player in IPL auction 2108. The  Himachal player previously played for Kings XI and CSK. Mohit have already made his appearance in international cricket for team India. As of now his performance in IPL was a decent one. This time he is gonna be a reliable bowler for KXIP. Being a senior bowler of the team he has to take care of the bowling unit by guiding Barinder Sran and Ankit Rajpoot.

Barinder Sran, the local punjab boy is going to play for his state this season. He already played for Rajasthan Royals and Sunrisers Hyderabad team. In SRH he doesnt have that much pressure in bowling because of the presence of Bhuvi, Fizz, boult. But KXIP depends on him next to Tye and Mohit. So Speedster Sran is going to be in playing XI as a third bowler. He already registered his presence in team India. As of now he took 36 wickets from 31matches in T20's with an average of 22.36 which is a good statistics about his bowling perfromance and he is having a 4wicket haul too.

Apart from these players KXIP had bowlers like Mujeeb Zadran an afghanian, the tall Ankit rajpoot who already appeared for many teams in IPL once he was a main bowler for CSK too, Mayank Dagar a domestic bowler who already played for India U19 team in worldcup and he is one of the most wanted young player soon we can see him in senior team too. Zadran will get a very less chance in playing XI because already Tye is there in squad. If KXIP needs an extra fast foreign bowler he will get a chance.

The remaining are emerging players like Akshadeep nath, the captain of UP team and he is an all-rounder too. He already played for Gujarat Lions in last two years of IPL. Being an young talent he can get a chance to play at position 5. KXIP also having additional domestic all-rounders like Pradeep Sahu and Manzoor Dar

Overall with new team and new captain KXIP targetted this year IPL trophy. Many players are new to team so its Ashwins responsibility in uniting and maintaining coordination between players. KXIP expecting a new strategy from the captain. If he fails they will  find other captain. If the top orders give a steady start and bowlers did a great job at death overs definitely KXIP can finish this season in top 4. Lets wait to hear the Lions Roar.
