IPL 2018 : Players Most Expected went Most Disappointment

                               Almost we are at the end of IPL 2018. As of now each team played atleast 11 matches. Sunrisers Hyderabad standing at the top of the table with 18 points followed by Chennai Super Kings with 14 points. Its almost confirmed that SRH and CSK going to enter in playoff. KXIP about to play their 11th match today (12-05-2018) against KKR with 12 points. The three teams were fighting for the fourth position MI, RR and KKR. Each and every players showing their talent in this season right from youngster Mayank Markande to the experienced Dhoni.

                                 But before the season starts many of them had some expectation on few players that they will be the match winners based on their domestic and international performance. Here we are going to see the top 5 expected players who became the biggest disappointment in this season. 

1. Mayank Agarwal

                       The young talent of India is the current highest run scorer in the domestic season 2017-18. He scored a mind blowing of  2141 runs during 2017-2018 domestic season. After a mountain of runs in the Ranji Trophy - 1160 at 105.45, with five centuries - as Karnataka reached the semi-finals, Agarwal switched seamlessly into T20 mode to score 258 runs at a strike-rate of 144.94 in the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy and then in the recent Vijay Hazare Trophy racked up a tournament record 723 runs at 90.37, which culminated with Karnataka lifting the domestic one-day title. BCCI focused their eyes towards this guy based on his performance in domestic tournaments.

                              Based on this performance only KXIP took him in auction. He disappointed everyone with his performance not only audience and selectors, he ruined his chance of entering in team India. In IPL 11 he scored just 118 runs from 10 matches. KXIP expected him to make their middle order strong with Karun nair. But he endup with an average of 14.75 only.

2. Kieron Pollard

          

                        Now mumbai having three IPL trophies its just because of Pollard and Malinga only. The West Indian Beast was considered one of the biggest threat to opponent teams. He made the Mumbai team middle order very strong with both bat and bowl. After the evolution of Pandya brothers he gradually loses his importance like he didnt get enough overs to bowl. Once Pollard was used to bowl death overs along with malinga. Now both were not doing that task. Even in batting also he is getting chance to bat at no 7. Moreover his performance also is not upto the mark in this IPL. One of the biggest hitter in limited over has scored just 76 runs from 7 matches in this season. His strike rate is also very poor with 108 only. Now the defending champions struggling in entering playoffs.

3. Ravindra Jadeja

                         Most successful all rounder in the last decade for India is undoubtedly jaddu only. Not only in International matches he gave worth contribution to CSK too in IPL. The left hander is the key player for CSK in both batting and bowling. When team needed he will score boundaries and increase runrate when team needed he used to take wickets too. Because of this quality only CSK retained him over Ashwin. But Jaddu's performance in this IPL is like even CSK fans thinking like why still Dhoni keeping jaddu in squad. Dhoni trust him alot so only he promoted jaddu in advance to Bravo in batting order. But this guy scored just 59 runs from 11 matches with strike rate of 115. Even Jaddu's biggest strength fielding also not upto the mark he left some easy catches too.  In one match alone he grabbed 3 wickets and became man of the match. Except that there is no use for CSK because of him in this season. 

4. Wridhimann Saha

              After picking KL Rahul in auction KXIP team lost Saha to SRH. Saha scored a century in finals for KXIP. SRH team had lot of faith with this guy because he is the current test team wicket keeper for India. Moreover he scored a tremendous 102 runs of just 20 balls in domestic cricket before the start of this season. That showed everyone like he is in good form and it will make SRH batting order strong at middle overs. But the happened one is reverse. He scored only 87 runs from 10 matches. Even Williamson promoted him to play as opener. SRH captain gave lot of chance to him but he cant able to show even a single blast. It results in the replacement of Srivats Goswami as wicket keeper for SRH in last game against DD.

5. Gautam Gambhir

                        The last one is really unexpected, the Ex-DD captain Gautam Gambhir. This man switched from KKR to DD in this season. Even DD team fans and owner expected that he will lift the trophy for DD as like as what he did for KKR. The team consists of young and experienced player with good coach. But he scored 85 runs from 6 matches with highest score 55. More than a batsman he failed as a captain. He cant able to get output from the youngsters and looks like he was in a confused state. That results DD in the bottom of table and Gambhir resigned his captaincy too. More than resignation he didnt play in the squad also. But that one is good decision the young captain Shreyas doing well. Finally Gambhir give way fro youngsters in IPL too. Soon we can expect Gambhir as a mentor for Delhi team.
