Boxing Day Test - What does it mean??




                         Many cricket fans have heard the word Boxing Day Test. Blindly we know it as the test match which starts next day to Christmas. But how many of you know the real meaning of Boxing Day??? Here it is

                          On December 25th of every year all the church in Australia and England kept a box for Christmas eve, the wealthy people put money, gifts and things in the box. That box will be opened the next day of Christmas, and the things were given to the poor people and that day commonly called as " Boxing Day". 

                       Every year Melbourne Cricket ground hosts a test match on December 26th and so its named as " Boxing Day Test". Since 1980 every year Australia hosting Boxing day test match. But the first match was played between England and Australia in 1950.
