Ball of 21st century - Mitchel Starc bowled at Perth WACA
The cricket world describes as the best bowling of this century which
was bowled at the ongoing ashes series.
It was a ball bowled by Australian pacemaker Mitchell Stark against
England. The 3rd Test of the Ashes series took place at the Perth-WACA cricket
ground which is famous for speeding. On the fourth day, he bowled the ball of
this century.
The England team, right-handed batsman James Vince, is the scapegoat for
the ball. Australian left-arm pacer Mitchell Stark ran out of the round the
wicket. That is, he ran straight to the batsman's face. Bowling bowled the ball
to the batsman's left foot towards the left side. Usually swinging those types
of ball are difficult.
The bowlers who want to swing were bowl from very close to the stump.
Stark did not do that. It seems like the ball bowled by him definitely should
turn more towards the leg side based on the direction and length he threw. But
that was just a surprise. The ball was pushed towards the direction of the leg,
but after the pitch, it switched towards the off stump. Batsman, heading
towards the direction of the leg, but the ball travelled off and hit the
stumps.
For few seconds James Vince did not understand what happened. Stark
started his celebrations. James Vince was in good form in the match and he
scored 55 runs. The speed of the ball is 143.9 km. Even though the ball bowled
with this speed it swings opposite to the direction of its length. That's why
cricket experts describe this magical ball as the best bowling of the 21st
century.
The best bowling of the previous century was bowled by Shane Warne. The
record took place on June 4, 1993, in a similar Ashes series. The match was
held at Old Trafford ground in England. The ball was bowled out of leg stump
still it swings and hit the stumps.
The ball bowled by Mitchell Starc can even take wickets of greatest
batsmen like Don Bradman and Sachin Tendulkar. England's former spinner Gram
Swann enthusiastically said that this is impossible one to play. Pakistan's
former pace man Wasim Akram has said that this bowling reminds him of his best
bowling days, and Stark has glorified left-hander pacers.
